Finding stories about interesting characters is one of my life’s passions. I love getting lost in a good book, and always look for stories that are transportive, either taking me to another place and time, or to an experience different from my own. But always, ALWAYS, the story has to be immersive and engaging.

Stories are everywhere. Some of my best sources are mining the riches of my ancestral family tree, or the thousands of women who arrived in Australia as convicts in the 18th and 19th centuries, to inspiration from captivating stories of apparently ordinary people. So many stories to read and to tell!

From 1790’s London to the colony of Sydney Cove, this tale based on a true story is of a solider seeking family and his place in the world and what he will do to protect the ones he loves.
